10 File Sharing Website That Blocked by Malaysian Government

Since Malaysia's government websites have been hacked by anonymous a few weeks ago, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commissions (SKMM) have be more alert and limit the Internet access in Malaysia. One of them is by blocking 10 famous file sharing website that allow people to download files especially movies nowadays. This made some of Malaysian downloaders in suck because cannot access these website to download movies.


The 10 file sharing website that blocked by Malaysian government are:

  2. htttp://www.thepiratedbay.org
  3. http://www.movie2k.to
  4. http://www.megavideo.com
  5. http://www.putlocker.com
  6. http://www.depositfiles.com
  7. http://www.duckload.com
  8. http://www.fileserve.com
  9. http://www.filestube.com
  10. http://www.megaupload.com
However, we can use a proxy changer to access these websites and enjoy the joy of download like advance users. We may also use a third-party application like uTorrent or BitTorrent which use a P2P server to download it. Yes its true that Malaysian government trying to preserve the copyright of files that have been uploaded but it have its pro and contra.
  • Pro - the copyright of the files such as movies, softwares and games can be preserved and prevent a piracy which may cause losses to producer
  • Contra - some of files that have been uploaded in these website are no longer in market nowadays and hard to get. For an example, we may looking for a movie that shown 5 years ago for a collection and it is no longer in market in type of CD nor DVD. So the only way to get it by downloading it in these websites. Blocking these websites is not the best solution but Malaysian government can take an initiative like limit the access, quantity, type and the date of publication of the files that can be download from these websites.
