Unifi, 1st Malaysia 20Mbps Broadband!

Oh god, everyday many technologies are being develop to ease our life. Now, Telekom Malaysia (TM) unveiling  a high speed broadband service (HSBB) for internet up to 20 mega bit per second (Mbps). However, it was very disappointing to us as the charge is very expensive for home users and only for those who are really afford to subscribe it, not everyone can enjoy this new feature.

The Unifi home packaged is RM149 for 5 Mbps, RM199 for 10 Mbps and RM249 for 20 Mbps. Wait, it was a big gap of charge, 5 times faster in Singapore just RM200 for 100 Mbps.

The other thing that really disappointed is the speed limit is based on the usage. Exceed the usage may throttle down the speed limit up to 10% from the purchase limit. The 5 Mbps package is for 60 GB data per month, 10 Mbps service up to 90 GB data and 20 Mbps has 120 GB cap. Maybe it look like too much for us but remember, the speed of connection is up to 20 Mbps, so calculate how much data were transfered in an hour and a month? Furthermore, you are a downloader, love to browse YouTube, Facebook and play games.

So, is it really good for us? Maybe it is a good starting to have a high tech country but remember, lot of things have to be done as we are far away left behind from other country that of course very high tech like Japan and even Singapore.
